The TM Forum's Shared Information/Data (SID) model provides a common vocabulary for Operational and Business Support Systems (OSS/BSS) that creates a bridge between the business and IT, which then simplifies the integration of IT systems. Using the SID can help you realize business benefits that create value for your customers and directly affect your bottom line. The Progress® DataXtend™ SID Model Browser can jump-start your learning about the SID and speed your organization’s adoption of this important industry standard.

The TM Forum's SID model improves data mediation in OSS/BSS integration projects by defining a common information model. But common models the size of the SID can be challenging to absorb. To help you understand this industry standard, we created the DataXtend SID Model Browser.
This read-only browser, built on top of Progress® DataXtend™ Semantic Integrator (SI), comes with a complete copy of the SID model, with its full documentation, so you can visualize the model as you explore it. The screen above shows the top level SID domains in the browser, color-coded to the same color scheme that the SID uses to make learning associations even easier. DataXtend SID Model Browser enables you interactively explore the SID domains. With the DataXtend SID Model Browser you can search for and understand the meaning of any of the classes in the latest version of the SID. Our archived webinar, Introducing the DataXtend SID Model Browser, will provide an overview and tutorial covering the major features of the SID Model Browser. The webinar includes a live demo showing how the SID Model Browser can be used to visualize and explore the SID. It also includes an introduction to a "Telco Tutorial" - complete with representative SID-based mappings and semantic data validation. You'll also benefit from hearing the Q&A session that occurred during the live webinar. |
